Field layout

Drag-and-drop the Identity & Profile section on lead and client detail pages, and the per-policy expanded edit form on the client detail page. Decide what's visible, what's hidden behind "+ Add Field", and how wide each field is.

Quick answers
What's the difference between custom fields and field layout?
Custom fields define what data exists (name, type, single-valued vs per-policy multi-value). Field layout decides where existing fields render and how wide they are. Creating a custom field auto-appends it to the layout in the right tab; you then drag it where you want.
Why won't this field hide?
Four fields are required and can never be hidden: first name, last name, email, phone. The commission block on the policy layout is also pinned to full width (can move position but not resize or hide). The 🔒 icon on those rows is intentional.
I made a change and the lead page didn't update.
Did you click Save? The sticky save bar at the bottom shows "Unsaved changes" until you do. Once saved, refresh the lead/client detail page in another tab — the new layout takes effect immediately for every member.
How do I undo a layout change?
Reset to default wipes your custom layout and reverts to the system default. There's no per-change undo, so save deliberately.

The three tabs

The builder

Each tab shows a canvas of rows (each row = one horizontal line of fields) and a rail of available fields. Drag a field from the rail onto a row, or drag between rows to rearrange. Each field card has a width picker (1/2/4/8/12) — the row's twelve columns split based on the weights.

Hiding fields

The 🔒 icon on each card hides the field. Hidden fields stay in the form (so existing data isn't lost) but don't render by default — they show up under "+ Add Field" on the detail page. Useful for fields you collect but rarely look at.

What happens when you add a custom field

Non-multi (single-value) custom fields auto-append to the profile layout for the entity you created them on. Multi (per-policy) custom fields auto-append to the policy layout. You then move them where they belong. Deleting a custom field removes it from the layout automatically.

Mobile

Layouts render single-column on screens narrower than ~900px regardless of your column weights. Edit on a desktop; preview on mobile in another tab.
